I received my certificate and license number in the mail this week, but it hasn’t showed up on my state’s CPA directory. I thought I read somewhere that you can’t call yourself a CPA until you are in the directory. Does anyone know if that’s true?

Not sure if it makes a difference, but there was a packet with the certificate that asked for more registration info and a renewal fee [or I guess initial fee in my case]. Could that be what’s holding it up?
