    Hi,

    n

I’m a California Board CPA Candidate. Finished FAR and AUD, and REG knocking on my door. I plan to finish it all by July. I’m hunting for jobs right now, and came across this opportunity that interests me. However, it is a non-public accounting job, and its a 3 yr commitment. The job is more like managerial accounting than audit. I’m not sure if my employers on the job will be CPA’s…..

How long can i wait after passing all exams to take the license? I mean if my current/future employer is not a CPA approved (or qualified to sign my license application) , but i’m happy on the job, can i postpone the license….of course i’m sure that will mean i cant write ‘CPA’ behind my name….but need to badly know this.

This is what California Board says

Applicants must meet the requirements for “active” status when they are approved for initial licensure. Therefore, it is required that the applicant have current knowledge of the practice of public accounting. This knowledge is demonstrated for initial licensure by completion of the current CPA exam and/or license experience within the past five years

    Thanks!!
