California Experience Requirement – Please Help

I am awaiting the score on my final exam on the 9th – so I looked to see the requirements to be licensed on the CalCPA website just to double check I would be all set. I encountered a problem with the work experience portion. I took the road less traveled and immediately entered the private industry upon graduating and have been working there since. My first boss was a licensed CPA from New York who left the company a little over a year ago – I had worked under him for a little over two years. My new boss is not a CPA. My question is – can I have my old boss sign off of the work experience paper that will be sent into the board? I know that he appreciated my work and will have no reason not to sign it.

Also, I know for sure that I do not have the “attest” experience and, from what I’ve read, that is OK as I will get a “G” license instead of an “A” license (please clarify if I am incorrect).

    Thanks everyone.

Yes, your old manager can still sign off your experience. Also, a non cpa above your old manager needs to sign it. Just put the period you worked under them (over a year in CA)

    AUD 2/25/14 - 82
    BEC 4/14/14 - 82
    REG 7/5/14 - 66, 80 (11/30/14)
    FAR 10/13/14 - 76
    ETHICS - PASSED
    EXPERIENCE - DONE
