Question for all you people out there who my have gotten reciprocity in CA after being licensed in a different state first. My current state is strict with the requirements (ie 150 hours req’d etc) and there is no license differentiation on whether or not you can sign attest opinions (any licensed CPA can sign). If you seek reciprocity in CA for pathway 2 (having 150 hours) will you get the attest license? Or do you have to go through the same song and dance as new CA applicants do in having to prove a set amount of hours in certain areas? Does anyone have any insight to the matter? Thanks.

Based on this document (page 25), you'd have to meet CA education requirements to get CA CPA license or work in public accounting for at least 4 years out of 10 before you apply in CA.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
