I had some philosophy and morality credits I took from abroad. The courses were translated to “Basic Principles of Marxism” and “Cultivation of Ideological Morality”. CBA didn’t count them as Ethics credits. They asked for course description to do a “course challenge”. Has anyone done the course challenge before? If yes, could you please give some tips? Thanks.

Just my 2 cents: I wouldn't expect the first one to count (more philosophy than ethics), but the second one does seem like a potential ethics credit after the challenge. It would depend, I'd think, on whether it was discussing “Ideological Morality”, or discussing how to cultivate it, more (cultivating it could be seen more as a course in teaching methods, whereas discussing ideal morals would be more along the lines of ethics).

Not in CA, though, or in any state with an ethics requirement (just business, accounting, and total credits in my state), so can't really say beyond that.

My goodness! If any state would give ethics credit for Marxism, you think it would be California.

I have to bring the post up again because maybe I'm facing the same situation. The application package was delivered days ago so I haven't received updates from the CA board yet. I'm worried about my ethics study requirement too. The board doesn't provide pre-approval for the courses so I can only reply on the tip sheet on the CBA website and the worksheet to calcualtion my credit units.

I have two auditing courses just named auditing. One was took in undergraduate school and the other was took in graduate school for Master degree. Hope they can count one as accounting and the other as Ethics study based on the tipsheet? I have another course named Auditing Practice. Hope it can be counted as ethics study too considerring it includes the key word”auditing”.

About philosophy and moral courses, the courses I took were”Marxism Philosophy” and “Cultivation of Thought and Morality and Legal basis”. See,I have the lucky word “Philosophy”. I asked CBA, here's their reply:

please be advised that you may have one course in the area of Philosophy, Theology or Religion to meet the regular Ethics Study requirement.

As long as the other course has the word Moral or a variation of the word, it can be considered a separate course that also meets the Ethics Study requirement.

It doesn't sound like a certain 100% yes answer. Hopefully I don't need to take extra classes..
