Hi Everyone,

I need help with passing the ethics exam. I got a 84, 88 and then 88. I have heard that when CalCPA sends you the email of the areas that you need to focus on that it is in the order of the questions you got wrong. If that is true, is it in relation to the Final Test or the Actual Test. If it is the Actual Test, they always rearrange the questions each attempt so do I copy and paste the test or can I print it out or is that even legal.

Sweeeeeeeeeet! Gracias. I thought getting reciprocity in California would be easy…couple of forms, write a few checks, fingerprints (that was new), and bada bing! I'd be done. I was sorely mistaken…this ethics exam is frickin' ridiculous. This is my first go-round with it, so I hope I don't have to take it more than once, but I thought I would finish it in an hour. It's been 2 and I'm only through 16 questions. I may have to pick this back up tomorrow. *Le Sigh*

You moving to CA? You might want to use the search option on here to get more tips on how to pass this test. I do know you have good research skills 😉

And yes, finding answers to those questions can be a pain. I spent about 16 hrs on this exam.

HAHA I posted on this thread a month ago…didn't even realize it. I remember thinking, I KNOW there was a thread with good information about the Ethics exam around here somewhere! I just never took it when I had this information fresh in my head. Oh boy, it has been a long day/night. Might be time to call it quits lol.

Any suggestions on taking the ethics exam while studying for the CPA exam? Best to wait until you pass all four parts or concurrently?

Best to take it right after you took the last CPA exam and while you are waiting for your score…. The PETH exam is valid for 2 years….in CALIFORNIA, that is. Hope, that's what you were asking 🙂

Haha I'm resourceful like that. Definitely! And thank you for the help…it is much appreciated. That ethics exam is no joke. Glad it's behind me.

@F15hy – Yeah, probably best to wait until you pass although I do believe like Kitty said, you can take it now if you wanted. Allocate a good 5-8 hours to it to Ctrl+F everything in the stupid document and read all the tips above…very helpful.

Hey! Just to clarify – I didn't say to take it “now” 😛

I passed FAR, BEC, REG.

Then I took AUD.

Then I took and passed CA PETH exam…WHILE waiting for AUD score.

Then I got my AUD score while having my other requirements done (education & experience), so I was able to apply for the CPA license a few days after I got the AUD score because I am VERY impatient like that! 😛 And it took them about 2 months to process my application. I got licensed on 1/30/2014, so LAST Thursday!

OMG! Congrats!!!! That's awesome, I can't wait to be you haha. I have BEC and REG down, waiting for FAR and I'm taking AUD on Feb 10. So I guess if I passed FAR, I'll get the ball rolling with ethics while I wait for AUD. I'm in CA too ;o) Thanks so much again for the advice.
