I just purchased the CA Ethics exam through CalCPA. I was able to access the PDF study materials but not the exam yet. Is there a reason for this? I plan on taking the exam tomorrow and am hoping to pass it on the first try. Does anyone have any tips?

I just passed it. It’s open book. I just went through the questions and used ctrl f on the pdf or just googled. Took a few hours.

You access the exam through CALCPA's website. It should be in your profile/self study section. Good luck on that ethics exam, I really hated taking it.

@Tim, hey man, trying to purchase the material myself. I'm a little confused by the whole thing. So I purchase the material, go to my account to take the exam and have 3 attempts to finish it, correct?

Yea that’s correct. No time limit. It’s a bit annoying but not too bad.

The exam would be available next day. If you just purchased the exam, the exam icon appears to be grey.

I just finished my CA ethics exam and had the same issue – the button to access the exam showed up the day after I purchased it. Not sure why there was a delay, but you should be able to access it now.

Also heard if you can't pass the first time, second time will be the SAME questions and they will email you the ones that you did wrong the first time? Could it be real? Sounds too good to be true.

@Puppykoala – nah, the questions on my second exam were (mostly) different than the first exam. However, I did notice that the difficulty of the questions seemed to scale down a bit on test #2. Could be wrong, just personal experience.
