Hello all,
I hope someone here might be able to offer me some advice.
Some Facts:
I am in CA
I have passed all 4 CPA Exams
I have not worked for a Direct Supervisor with an active CPA license
I work as a Manager of Accounting & Reporting for a Public Corporation
My coworker at the same level (a Manager) reviews a large portion of all of the accounting and reporting work that I produce.
In 2011, the CBA confirmed that “Currently, it is not required that the CPA supervising your work be a direct supervisor. It should be someone who has reviewed and evaluated your work on a routine and recurring basis.”
I have reached out to the CBA again to reconfirm that this still holds, but they have not responded since I emailed them last Friday.
I am getting anxious because if my colleague can no longer attest to my experience, I will be subject to the new educational requirements put in place as of 1/1/14.
Has anyone else had a non-direct supervisor sign off on their experience? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
