Ok, so I filled out the Illinois IDFPR CPA license application and had my employer complete the work experience form. I read the instruction sheet and the application checklist to make sure I didn’t miss anything. As I’m going to put it in the envelope, on the first page of the application it states in small print to use black ink only. I had completed the entire application in blue ink and my employer completed the verification of experience form in blue ink also. So, I redid all the pages using black ink, except that I’m not going to ask my boss to redo the experience form. Technically, the experience form does not say to use black ink; this is only mentioned on the first page of the general application form. Has anyone else heard of issues with Illinois if you don’t use black ink? I would think that if it is something that they are really strict about that it would be listed on the instruction sheet and the checklist instead of in very small print on one of the pages without any emphasis added. The blue ink used is pretty dark and it copies well, so I’m not sure if they would have an issue with it. I’m going to cross my fingers and mail it in.
