Best way to contact former employer to sign experience letter?

I worked for 3 different public accounting firms for the past 4 years and I am no longer with them, shall I just contact 2 of them for 2 years of experience or all 3 of them? I am afraid that if any one of them doesn’t send the letter to state board, it will delay/hold up my application.

Also, what is the best way to contact them? Email? Phone? Mail?

Also, what should I write to them? I am afraid that since I left the firm, they may not give a s**t about my request…

Sorry for posting 3 questions in one post, any help to any of the question above would be greatly appreciated.n

I'd suggest, emailing them and follow up with a phone call (if needed). You could also approach it like you a verification of employment.

Put in the subject line “verification of employment” and state what you need them to do and where to send it. If you approach it as if it is not a favor, they are more apt to do it… I'd think. It is tax season so keep that in mind.

They are probably CPA's too.. shouldn't they do the “right thing”. Hopefully they have some ethics.n
