    Just received my AUD score, first was my first exam towards the CPA. I have to be honest I dont think I study hard enough for it. My study approach was to go over the lectures CD’s (Becker). Worked all the MC questions and did the final review as well. My final score was a 64 🙁

    Now, one thing that I noticed was the half of the question on my testlets were barely touched on the CDs. So now I’m wondering if my study approach was the best.

    I will be scheduling the exam for late August. Any study, motivational or reviewing suggestions will be great.

    P.S. I am taking BEC 3rd week of July and I dont want to fail!! However, after receiving my AUD score I’m affraid I will fail BEC as well.

    Thanks

    J.C.

    BEC–My exam was brutal!! I cried during the exam, put my head in my hand and began to cry. I got frustrated because i knew i was going to fail. My recommendation…make sure you do every question and supplemental question..yes i know some are in the 100's but it will tremendously help you. Do not forget to look at the technical addendum on beckers site. CPAEXAMHELP.com offers free bec questions you can try. Lastly whatever you do, don't give up like i did. i was pissed off when i got my score of friggin 71. If i would have stayed focused and just tried, sucked it up, with no tears. I probably wouldn't be studying right now for a retake sometime in july!! For my retake, i will be doing becker backwards. IMO ch 1 and 2 were easy.

    I took AUD on 5/28. I seen between 5-10 questions that were verbatim from Becker..probably will be test questions and thrown out. LOL. I couldn't tell if they were getting harder or not. In fact, I have only been able to tell on FAR. Reg seemed of the same caliber and since i passed that one, I am not worried about them seeming to be all the same. My SIMs weren't easy or hard. They were just ok. My WC were ok also. My research…one was just asynine, I was like what??? I searched and searched but then I gave up and went to sim #2. I finished with 4 minutes to spare as I wrote out the entire std report, review, and compiliation before the exam. As well as the skeletal for each report. Followed by mneumonics so I wouldn't have to say it in my head. Overall, I just dont know. But I sure hope AUD is released second like it was last month!!!

    You know what it is that you need so I will not touch about reviewing CD's. I totally am glad that I took the time beforehand to write down the skeletal, std, review and comp. report. it totally helped me. But once again that is a personal preference.

    Finally, don't dwell on the fail. Hit BEC hard and heavy. Then give yourself 1-2 days of mental relaxation, then go at audit again. Dont put yourself in a failing BEC category when you haven't even sat for an exam yet. I found out 2 days before my BEC test that i had failed FAR but I didn't allow that to deter me from taking the exam. Once I was finished with the exam…I was finished I moved on to the next as I had scheduled all 4 of my exams back in jan.

    In my opinion a 64 means you have a good grasp of the material, just add on to that and follow thru with a pass!!

    Good luck

    IL - BECKER=============> DONE
    REG - 80; FAR - 65,79; AUD - 53,78; BEC - 71,68, 75 (used becker and yaeger for 3rd BEC)Ethics 95

    Thanks for the advice. I just finished the first two lectures or REG, so far so good. I like taxes so there were easy. I'll start lecture 3 this afternoon.

    Do NOT give up! I've struggled (as well as many other people on this forum) with the exam and you just have to figure out what you need to do different. I'm now driving about 2 hours one way (about 100 miles) to attend class because I can't seem to find the dedication to just sit down and watch the Becker lectures…I'm also giving up my life this summer (way not fun) just becuase that seems to be what you have to do. Put everything on hold and just focus on this exam. Aside from reflecting on your studying techniques, do as many multiple choice questions as possible prior to your test day. Work the simulations as well becuase it can only help you.
