Are CPE required for initial licensing if you are in the middle of cycle?

Just curious if there are experts out there/similar situation.

So in my state, you have to get 80 CPE credits every 2 years (20 minimum/yr) to maintain your license. The next cycle starts Jan 14 – Dec 15.

If I apply for initial license in October 2014, does this mean I only have a little over 1 year to get my 80 CPE if I didn’t do any CPE in 2014?

I might have to ask my state board again, but they did say you don’t need any CPE to initially apply. Hence this question. Maybe it’s prorated…?

Check your state … Kansas pro-rated mine when I was initially licensed.

My state pro-rates, too, but it is a state-by-state thing.
