Now I finally passed all 4 sections but can get licensed in FL because my two Master degrees from my (foreign) universtity are not enough. I have a Master in Finance and one in Accounting and still I need to earn another 18 hrs because my degrees do not come from a US accredited university.

I mean this is REALLY discriminating, I think. I could have 10 PhD degrees from the best universities all over the world and still FL State Board wouldn´t acknowledge it! This is so frustrating.

Anyways I wanted to register for graduate couses through APUS and I got my foreign credetials evaluated through an authorized organisation. Now I went through the online registration process and it is telling me that – because I am not a US Citizen – I have to take the TOEFL exam.

What??? Are you kidding me? I have lived and worked in the US for years, I am married to a citizen.

Anyone else ever went through this???

I understand your frustration. I had to deal with some of these issues too. I applied for a graduate program at CSU and they didn't give me credit for my MA degree which was double major and essentially about 300 units after you convert them to US system. I got credit for “equivalent to Bachelor”.

Also, they make you take TOEFL not because you are not a US citizen but because you didn't graduate from any school in the US. Fortunately for me, I was able to waive this requirement because I worked on campus.

Hope you can figure it out!

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

    Thanks for your motivating words!

I still cannot believe all this…

I have over 200 semester credit hours and could teach all this Accounting classes I have to take again 🙁

But to take an English test…this really is ridiculous!!!
