Any suggestions on CPE?

    I just got my CPA and was starting to look at getting CPE credits. I’m also concerned about forgetting what I learned.

    Becker has CPE review courses for a fee.

    Anyone have any feedback on retaining the knowledge, as well as, the Becker CPE courses?

    Thanks!

    Are you referring to the CPA review? I was asking about CPE credits and the Becker product.

    cpe = continuing education? b4 will provide plenty of seminars/classes/etc to meet all requirements. not sure about other options.

    If you go to work for a firm this will be taken care of with annual training. Otherwise, your local state society of CPAs will have good topics to choose from and this is great way to network. Also, the AICPA has CPE and the professional membership can be something to add to the resume. If you”re interested in a niche take classes in that area.

    b4= a big 4 accounting firm.

    But I work for the state government and my employment related CPE requirments are the same if not more than that requested for CPA's, and are also employer paid

    To me the best bet would be to work somewhere that pays for CPE, other than that as someone else suggested, the state CPA societies and the AICPA offer lots of CPE opportunities.

    I haven't ever looked into CPE offered by Becker or any other course provider….

    Thanks…I work for an oil company and I do have opportunities for CPE through work. I guess I'm more concerned about not retaining what's been learned. I saw Becker's CPE courses and wondered if they not only satisfied CPE but also review previous CPA studies.
