Any other non-accounting certifications accountants should consider?

Besides the CPA and CMA, what other certificaitons would help an accountant excel in the workplace? Technology seems obvious but I’m not sure what would be applicable to accounting or boost marketability. Advanced degrees is a plus like a MACC or MBA, but what else?

I have a lot of clients in the construction industry, so I was going to get the CCIFP (Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional).

Yeah, it all depends on what you do.

This is not exactly the type of certification that you mean, and probably anybody can do it…but my boss would like me to become a notary so I'm probably going to be taking the test soon…

The AICPA has its own forensic designation. CFF.

If you do taxes, an Enrolled Agent certification can't hurt. I started on mine the week after I sat for REG (the first time).
