so the PICPA gave me a year of free membership for passing the CPA exam.

Anyone know if the AICPA does this too? for the PICPA i was already a member (as a cpa exam candidate) before passing, but was not for AICPA. It’s freaking $225. Also I’m not sure how it really benefits me….

If you find out about anything like that, let me know! 😛 Joining the AICPA is something that I'd really like to do, but I just can't justify the cost right now. 😐 State society is $240; AICPA is $225; license renewal is $100 (just every-other year, but my license is up for renewal 7 months after I got it 😐 ), probably at least $200 in CPE (and that's using online sources)…over $750 if I do it all, and my certification resulted in a raise of $0.00, so I'm thinking that I'll wait on the state society and AICPA till some future date…!

However, if you have the experience to qualify for the CGMA certification, then joining the AICPA now as a CPA will allow you to skip the future testing for the CGMA, so something to look into. I'll be a year short when the exam start, so will have to take the exams if I want to designation.

I've had a membership since I've been licensed. You get a *really* big certificate 🙂

The KY certificate fits in a standard diploma frame, so maybe the really big certificate would be enough to be worth it… 😉 haha jk
