I have done my research on the AICPA membership dues or fees but the information seems to be conflicting, for those of you who are members of these societies, how much is the membership fee?

I saw the membership fee ranging from $200-$300, and I find this very expensive. Just to properly assess the whole issue, I would also like to know the benefits of joining these societies.

I am only a member of the Indiana CPA Society. I have only been a member for a month or so and my employer paid for it ($350 annually I think). So far, from what I can tell, the benefits include some free CPE and networking opportunities. For example, tomorrow morning I am going to a free CPE conference that will give me 4 hours of CPE.
