    Hello,

I graduated from UCLA with a BA in Economics and emphasis in accounting in 2009.

I have recently passed BEC with an 84, and am awaiting results for REG.

My question is…what should I do next!?

Should I consider graduate school? Where do I go to seek employment in a CPA firm?

Will my employment opportunities get better once I pass the CPA?

I have worked for a finance company for 1 year as a temp, but have basically 0 experience in Accounting. I am finding it very difficult to get an entry level job in Accounting.

I am lost :(. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Jay P

    Hey Jay,

    Congrats on passing BEC!!

Can't help you out with the graduate school question, I think that is a choice you need to make. I am wondering what state you are in? I think the local economy/geograhical area can have a direct effect on your job search. You will definitely have more opportunities after passing the exam. Where do your interests lie? Tax ? audit???? Working in a big 4 firm is much different than a smaller local firm–do you have a preference?

You are really in a good position–wide open road-lots of choices!!

    Thanks!

I just want to be done already! But thanks for the motivation, I'm from San Diego, CA and yea hasn't been as easy as it sounds. I am just hoping things get better once I pass this CPA exam thing.

    Thanks for the motivation!
