Just curious if anyone has experience selling their study materials when they are done with them and how you do it. Jeff, is that something that you don’t want to promote on this forum?n

I think with most review products you agree to destroy them upon completion of the exam. I know you do with Becker. I think it is illegal to resell them when you are done.n

I asked this question a long time ago, and Jeff had a pretty good response. To sum it up, it is against the copyright restriction in the front of the books and your agreement with the exam prep company. You spend so much time passing the exam and getting your license, you don't want to deal with potential copyright infringement…

Of course, this is probably most relevant to something like Becker. For Yaeger – I imagine Wiley books are like every other book – and you are OK to sell them. But I wouldn't think you can sell Yaeger lectures. I was going to sell my books (i.e. like textbooks) but I talked myself out of it.n

My official stance is that you should follow the license restrictions of your particular course. I don't allow re-selling discussion on here because I don't want to deal with company representatives contacting me about infringing posts…I have little league to coach :)n

I can respect Jeff's keep it out of here so we don't have to deal with it at all. However, license breach does not equal illegal. Also, case law on the doctrine of first sale is also a well studied item. The software is a huge gray area and probably a no-go though.n
