I saw a thread like this for 2018, so I’m starting a new one for 2019.

Here’s where I’m at so far:

1/7/19 — mailed in full application form along with check, except for work experience certificate
1/9/19 – delivered to CBA (based on UPS tracking #)
as of now – check not cashed yet
Heard the CBA is very slow – let’s see how long it will take…

Gieseoff – Waht state are you applying to? Wish my application fee was only $120. It is $250 for California.

1-11-19 Application and $250 check mailed to cba
1-14-19 Application received, check not cashed

Todd, it's california. They've already processed my application. After they take your $250 check they ask for another $120 to get your license.

09/20/17 – Passed all of my exams
07/20/18 – Submitted my application, did live screen, firm submitted my audit hours, I have my MSA so I have all my educational credits
07/30/18 – CBA received my application
08/03/18 – CBA cashed my check
08/07/18 – Received my postcard post dated 8/3
08/07/18 – Passed my ethics exam
09/19/18 – Called the CBA. They said they were just starting to process initial review for applications received on 7/10, and I probably won't be done with the initial review process for another 4-6 weeks.
10/01/18 – Received an email that I forgot to sign the criminal disclosure form. DOH! Didn't notice the email until the following Friday, 10/5.
10/05/18 – Emailed SIGNED criminal disclosure form – but my application had to go back into the wait line, which is completely my fault.
10/19/18 – Received email that my application is finally going into final review.
12/11/18 – Finally received email asking for the $120 check and mailed it in same day. They received it 12/14/18.
01/17/19 – I finally got my license number!!!

It was a very long and annoying process. I watched two of my coworkers submit their applications in later than me and get licensed before me. I hope no one else has to wait as long as I did. LOL

    Hi everyone,
Wanted to add a comment here that application in Alaska to get license is $690! Ouch. I wish it was cheaper like in California.

How long does it take to process the application in Alaska? I would have paid way more, if I could expedite the process.

It’s hard to say exactly how long it may take to process application in Alaska. Our state board of accountancy are meeting sometime on February 8 I think. So I submitted everything about a month before and was told there are no guarantees if I will make it on the board agenda in February because it takes weeks to get confirmation from Nasba. Crossing my fingers I can celebrate these magical three letters next to my name is February. Ohh the journey was so long and hard, but you guys, I feel like a million bucks after passing! Best feeling ever.
