Yaegar for AUD

    I heard the way Yaegar (blackboard) teaches making AUD hard to learn. Is there any specific way I should be studying? I’m kind of strapped for time, but the good thing is I can give all my attention to AUD. Any tips for studying AUD with Yaegar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Some additional info. AUD was my worst two classes in college, I barely passed. I'm more of a Tax guy.

    Used Yaeger for AUD and passed. Lectures are kind of boring but it is what it is. Basically just non-stop MC. The NINJA Notes as a supplement were also really helpful.

    Nice. I'm into the first two hours of the tapes, and it seems ALL OVER THE PLACE. They don't really distinguish between the AICPA or PCAOB. I'm sad. 🙁

    This is probably not what you want to hear, but I would read the book in addition to watching the videos. Gary does a great job with going over the key points, but there are some gaps that would best be filled in by reading each module. I did the MCQ's in the book and in the test bank at least 2 times (some modules I had a harder time with I did 3 times). I would recommend keeping track of what MCQ's you get wrong more than once and making sure you review those before the exam. I also read over the NINJA notes the morning of the exam as a final review of everything. I thought the Yaeger lectures/Wiley book/NINJA notes combo worked perfect!

    @apbandj: Really appreciate the advice.

    @CPAMan: I'm really impressed with you going from 47 to 87 in AUD and I really not wanna have to take this twice. How did you do so well the second time? Thanks in advance.

    @Mikey – I'm assuming you already know, but just in case I wanted to mention it. Make sure you utilize the Authoritative Literature tab for all (or most) SIMS and not just for the research question. They might throw some SIMS out there that you may not have a clue on, but you can probably find those in the literature.

    Use the AUD NINJA Notes/AUDIO to make sure you have the “must know” concepts locked down.

    Hey Jeff,

    Just emailed you, but I'll ask the question here too. I have two questions reading the notes. First and foremost, my exam is within 2 weeks, are they delivered electronically? Also, I have recently sat for FAR, and am not sure if I passed. Regarding the promo for the buy won get one free, can I wait to pick the free section after I get my score back?

    Yep – they're electronically delivered and you can pick your 2nd one whenever convenient.

    I used Yaeger for AUD and it was the only section I passed the first time, barely, but it was a pass! I listened to the lecture, supplemented with Audio. Now that Jeff's audio is out I would go with that over the Yaeger audio. One tip I picked up is to watch the lectures on 1.3X speed. It speeds them up but still at a comfortable pace to take notes. It's hard to listen to the lectures, but just try to power through and take notes. I would also take a break for like 10 minutes after every lecture to refresh.

    R: 86 (2X) Feb 2012

    Haha, yup. I've been watching at 1.4x. Gary is a good instructor, but still audit is unbearably boring and I'm only 4 hours in :(.
