My NTS runs out April 16th for BEC, which is my last section. I was considering not taking it then, and scheduling it for sometime in May. I’m just worried that with it being tax season I wont have enough study time to be able to pass. If I fail I would have to wait until July to take it again, and still have to pay the $300.

Personally, I'd say just take it. Always take it if you paid for it. Then keep studying. You *SHOULD* get your score back in Early may, and you can reapply to take it at the end of May.

I would just take it on April 16th. Despite the fact that you are busy you have plenty of time to study – you can dedicate all weekends to it and pass. I studied for two weekends and in the week between (while working) for BEC and that was sufficient. Chapters 1 and 2 should not take you much time to grasp…chapter 4 is kind of impossible to actually study…you get all kinds of questions on IT….focus most of your time on Chapter 3 and 5. Definitely worth cramming and shooting for 4/16.

well you can't take the same part twice in the same window….so if you don't pass (although I think you can do it!), you will have to wait til july/august window.

Personally, I would take it. If you don't pass you have a benchmark then of where you need to improve. Since you already paid for it you might as well. It is always worth a try. :O)

Thats how I felt (refering to all the comments) but if I fail the earliest I could receive a score telling me that I'm finished is the end of Sept. I don't think I want it hanging over my head that long. I've passed the other 3 sections on the first attempt and feel like I could do the same on BEC.

Also, I work every saturday until 3-4 and I'm getting married in June so I'm doing wedding stuff a good bit on the weekends. I really dont know what I'm going to do with my free time.

I ran into time contraints in that I received my NTS earlier than I thought I would (it only took them a week and a half to get it to me) so I opted to take BEC and do the best I could. I'd hoped to study for it during June and take it in July. I studied for two and a half weeks, the last week about 6 hours/day and passed on the first attempt back in January. I did have more time though, since it was during the holidays. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    BEC 84 (1/7/10); FAR 93 (2/26/10); AUD 82(4/9/10); REG 96 (5/14/10)
