I took FAR yesterday and after the 2nd testlet felt like I was doing very well. Apparrently the exam thought so also as my third testlet was pretty difficult. My 2nd testlet was harder than my first. But even with the difficult third testlet I felt good going into the SIMs. I didn’t do too well on the SIMs, I got to both of them, I left one tab blank and had to guess on most of it has it had stuff that I hadn’t seen in any of my review material and the things I had seen had all these twist to them. I did ok on the communications and I think I got atleast one research problem right. My question is has anyone ever bomb out on the SIMs but still got atleast a 75?

Yup. I bombed my Aud Sims, at least the report said “weaker” in both SIms and WC and got an 83.

How did you get a report, if you passed?

My State (MD) gives reports for passes and losses. It comes up when you check your scores. Do must states not do that?

I think you did well enough to pass! I totally bombed my FAR SIMs. I guessed most of the time on my first SIM; on my 2nd SIM, I only did the written communication and one tab…I ran out of time. I surely thought I had failed but passed..

I know Pennsylvania does not give you a report if you pass. Is Maryland a NASBA state? If not, this may explain why.

@NJCPA2B, thanks. That made me feel a little better. I left the test thinking I did my best. I know for a fact one of the things in my SIM was not in my book. We will see how things go. Does anyone know when I should expect my test scores?

The report shows compares how well you performed with candidates that barely passed the exam (75-76ish). It breaks the exam down by MC, simulations, etc. and shows you where your weaknesses were.

That's pretty cool, well we will see what happens. I'm starting BEC next week. Has anyone taken it? How does it compare to FAR in terms of difficulty?
