No matter how left-field the questions/SIMs are, keep with it, and answer them to the best of your ability. I swear I had 2-3 SIMs I knew NOTHING about, but I had time to research, and walked away with an 85.

Try to hang on to confidence no matter how hard the test beats you down.

Expect to feel as if you failed miserably regardless of how you did, so don't beat yourself up. You WILL feel terrible walking out; I did for at least 3/4 tests and passed them all.

Get there early to avoid any additional stress. Drink a smoothie beforehand (preferably with lots of kale; it will make you feel awake and sharp, but not jittery and nervous like caffeine).

Budget your time per testlet and per SIM; Gleim recommends you write down your budgeted time for each section as soon as you sit down, and fill in your actual time next to it. If you can leave more time for the SIMs, you will likely need it. Bring your own ear plugs. Don't forget your NTS and ID. See if you can notice if testlets #2 and #3 are harder than #1. (That said, FAR was the one test where I did not feel like they were getting harder.) If they get harder, it is usually a good sign. Remember that questions are weighted differently and there are many pretest questions, so several wrong questions are not necessarily a bad sign.

    Good luck!

Don't overthink the exam, don't waste the brainpower trying to figure out if the testlets are getting more or less difficult (you'll have plenty of time after the exam to ponder that, and all the answer choices you made until receiving your score August 4th), just feel confident with the study prep you put it, and do your best.

Also, a tip from a former accounting professor that has truly helped my exams, don't flag questions. Go with your first gut/instinct choice and leave it be; you'd be surprised how many correct answers, when second guessed, turn into wrong answers!

    Best of luck,

    AJG

Thank you both tremendously. @coloradorit Already have my earplugs and NTS sitting by my door 🙂 I never thought of a kale smoothie for a morning boost. I have plenty of kale in my garden so I'll whip one up before I leave.

@AJG38 I have an awful habit of second-guessing myself. It stuck with me through college and you're right, I would often be better off just going with my gut. I will be sure to keep that in mind tomorrow.

If you feel like you second guess, I use this strategy.. not positive if it works since I just tested last week for FAR but it made me feel better and not as pressured to change my answer. I would go into a testlet and read through all questions and answer the ones I knew first as I was going through. Generally this meant that I skipped the ones with calculations unless it was a simple calc. But after going through them all once and answering the ones that I knew, I went back from the beginning and answered the rest. I didn't move on until I had my best possible guess and I didn't go back and second guess myself on ANY questions.

@CPAwi88 That seems like a good strategy to follow. I would be afraid of using up too much time or, God-forbid, accidently not answering a question lol.

I am definitely going to have to decide on a strategy for tomorrow morning ASAP. The hours are just cruising by….

Using too much time: I set a time limit for myself and probably rushed through a few but I always stuck to my time frame.

Not answering a question: At the bottom of the screen all questions are listed out (by number) and once answered the number is shaded. As long as you make sure all have chagned colors, you really shouldn't miss any or have a fear of that happening.

    Good luck!

Kale is a godsend. I felt like i was on my death bed before i started with kale smoothies. Had zero energy and was so very weak. Within a few days of kale smoothies, my health significantly improved, and within a week, i felt better than i had in years. No exaggeration. My skin also became a lot more clear and smooth within weeks. I just can't speak highly enough of it. I dont do it enough now, but on bad days, it is the only thing that will keep me going. It definitely gives you a boost (and your brain uses the vast majority of the vitamins you consume) with both physical and mental energy, which you will definitely need during a 4 hour test. Throw a ripe banana in there with some OJ and you can't taste the kale. Good luck again!
