Why is there a big difference in wording of questions on the FAR exam?

I studied for around 500 hundred hours for FAR using the Wiley textbook and Wiley Online Test Bank. When I took the real FAR exam, the questions looked very different than what I practiced with using Wiley. Is it just me noticing this? So why is there such a big difference? Does the AICPA like to torture us and purposely word their questions differently than Wiley?

That's the reason I keep failing. I usually know the answers. I just don't understand what the hell they are asking me half the time because the questions are so badly worded… I use multiple test banks, becker and wiley mcqs, to practice soley to get a differents perpective on the different ways to ask questions. Might help you too if you're just using Wiley…

@ dtomasello I have 2011 Becker Passmaster, Class Notes, and Summary Note PDF files. I haven't used them yet, I guess I'll have to look at them. That frustrates me, because you'd think Wiley and their 1000 or so MCQ's for FAR would be enough. I think the AICPA released questions would be good too, what do you think?

Becker is really good about incorporating the AICPA released questions into their material. You can also check out: https://cpareviewforfree.com for some freebies. Also, if you haven't done so at least take the “final exams” in becker if you have the recent version… They simulate the nausea of the scam experience pretty well.
