This is kinda the opposite of the thread about people saying idiotic things about the exam…

I just got out of a meeting with an awesome accounting professor who has been completely supportive, kind, and has a great deal of faith in me when it comes to being able to take and pass the CPA exam. We worked together at the VITA clinic this spring and I am so glad to have met her.

I am so grateful for Professor Joanie for believing in me when I am having a hard time believing in myself. She makes me want to study extra just so I can make her proud.

    Who helps you keep going?

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

I would like to thank the arrogant a-h*le CPA co-worker. Everytime he talks to a finance person, he always flashes his CPA credential. He is not longer practicing his CPA, but he likes to let people know that he took the exams just because he likes to, not that he likes to use it afterward…everytime I ran into him, I studied extra harder that night after work…he also gave me motivation that ordinary people like him can pass too, so can I.

My few friends who respect the fact that they have no idea what I am going through and encourage me because they know me best and never compare what I am doing to something they are going through.(there is no comparison!)

My wife and kids–just like military family members left at home, they also suffer and miss me.

    Also my Church family.

My husband and kids who are very anxious to get their wife and mom “back.” When I failed AUD, my husband simply said, “We both know you're going to be a CPA; it's just a matter of when.”

I've been pretty emotional/hysterical throughout this process and he keeps me grounded. He seems to know what to say when I'm down and he's been incredibly selfless throughout the process.

I am going to do something huge for him and the kids when I pass….I just don't know what.

My husband, for sure! He has taken over all household duties while I study, as he also did while I was going to school to get the degree in the first place while I worked full time. He is always telling me how proud he is of me and encouraging me to keep going! Very supportive and understanding!

And I have to add my son, who is taking the exams during the same year I am. It is wonderful to talk to someone who knows EXACTLY what you are going through. I am grately that we can encourage each other, even though we live in different states! Love you, Marc!

I'm with the poster above me.

No one in my real life has a clue and quite frankly, it doesn't really matter.

I don't have very many close friends or relatives that would even care, but the ones that are close have been so supportive. I knew they would be. Quality over quantity.
