So we have all been there I am assuming. We study, we give up our lives, we study extra and then we despair over having no lives! We have a certain required level of determination to begin this exam, and we try and work at it, only in my case to see that it was not good enough. I missed FAR by 6 points. The letdown is sometimes disappointing, but the embarrassment is horrible. So many people knew I was studying, sitting, and hoping to pass. Was I not ready? Am I not ready? I felt ready (somewhat). Now I am at a part where I can say that I have done the questions over and over, to the point of no return. I feel that the next time, I just might be ready. But how will I know? Is there a trick that anyone else uses?
If you know of a trick of how you know you are ready, I will tell you my trick of how I finally feel I am ready! I have slowed down on my schedule (mentally) of when I will be ready for the exam, and absorbed the material, at my own pace. The Roger CPA review material is awesome, and I will tell you why. The trick is to be able to stand the lectures, walk away with some good refreshers, and be able to comprehend the questions and break them down to give a correct answer. Inventory, for example, is something that as accountants we feel we know, and know it well! But on the exam, it isn’t a situation of knowing what the answer is as much as it is figuring out what the question is! Now once you have been able to wrap your head around the question, you are ready to start answering the questions.
Then you come to a point where you say, ok I think I have this. Well I am at the point where in the next week I will be ready for this, which is why I am ordering my NTS this week and hope to sit for the exam the week of thanksgiving. So, I ask again, does anyone have any ideas as far as how they knew they were ready!?
