AnonymousInactiveThe exam so consumed my life during testing I have a hard time not coming and checking the forums several times per week. I enjoy helping others where I can. Seeing others pass and the excitement they feel is enjoyable as well.

AnonymousInactiveI agree Dale, the exam consumed so much of my time. Seeing other succeed in conquering this exam is gratifying as well. I no longer post like I used to but will pass on any info if I can make someone journey less miserable than mine.

nolifecpaParticipanti have a question for the multiple test takers, how did you restudy?? did you go over everything again like a final review or did you just work on your problem areas based off the score evaluation report?
currently i'm rereading every chpt and then doing mcq but feel like i should just attack the mcq and only refer to the book if i'm still confused on a question
i'm retaking REG and BEC next window and need advice

MPoni123ParticipantIt's kinda funny though because once 2011 rolls around….all the test takers that passed in 2010 will almost become obsolete because we won't be familiar with the new format or information changes!! 🙁 I will feel like how the paper and pencil exam takers feel! haha. Of course we can still share our study habits, etc.
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

nolifecpaParticipantMPoni123,
congrats on passing all 4 parts of the cpa exam!! i've frequently seen you in this forum and thought of you everytime i heard taio cruz on the radio
yes, i have been using becker since the beginning (2007). in the beginning, i didn't give the exam the respect it deserved and was partying wayyyy too much, i would study severly hungover like i did in college and my scores showed. did it again the 2nd time but thought i could pass because i was somewhat familiar with the material….failed again!!!!!
fast forward to 2009…relocated, changed employers, and put cpa on hold for about a year to learn my new job. finally realized that if i were going to pass this exam i would have to sacrafice my social life (hence my screen name). i ordered new becker material, which my employer paid, and gave up alcohol, wknds, golf, friends, and studied all the time…well, went out once a month. after all the studying, still came up short and scored similar to what i was scoring when i was partying. this lead me to believe it was either the way i was studying or the study material itself (maybe becker is not for me).
i'm giving it 1 more shot and if i don't pass a section i will convert to yaeger.
after you converted to yaeger did you immediately pass or did you have to retake a section? i'm just trying to figure out if it is worth the $1k + since i will be paying for it out of pocket
also, thanks for sticking around and not ditching us!!!

AnonymousInactiveI agree about the TAIO Cruz comment.. I remember when I heard it on the radio the first time.. I thought of your quote and said “OH that's what her quote is saying”! haha. It still cracks me up!
Congrats!

MPoni123ParticipantLOL @ CPA Someday and nolifecpa!! A lot of people on the forum have commented about that song reminding them of me! I feel like it described my life during the CPA exam days perfectly. I couldn't wait to just celebrate and live my life and now I can! 🙂 Thanks for the congrats!
CPA Someday – you are half way there 🙂
@ nolifecpa – I was in a similar situation as you in the beginning. I took all 4 parts from April 2009 – August 2009 and failed every single one. I had my head up my @$$ and had just finished my MBA the previous December 2008 and got through my first full time tax season. I was in no way ready to start the CPA exam journey. I used Becker at first. Once I got serious in September 2009 I passed AUD and REG (using Becker again), but COULD NOT pass BEC. After two more failed attempts in early 2010 (with scores of 66 and 71), I switched to Yaeger and passed with a 79. I then picked up with FAR, but really lost all motivation because BEC had burnt me out! Luckily, with 4 weeks of studying and some review, I passed with a 75. I credit that to Yaeger because of their teaching and lecture style and the TONS of notes I took. I would highly suggest switching to Yaeger AND you get discounts on this website for their review!!
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

How did you celebrate the big event? Is the boyfriend enjoying the new you? Amazing how enoough sleep and almost no stress effects a person 😉
Good to see that you are enjoying life and still interested in the rest of us still working towards passing the CPA! We need encouragement and the knowledge people do pass!
Things are good – just reviewing FAR, taking notes and taking progress tests

75 CPAParticipantI am going to work full-time next Monday for a Christian CPA in town. I have a CPA tool chest with no tools in my tool box.
I do not know how much longer I will be able to continue posting on this forum. I spent $15,000 on review materials and Notice to Schedules. I have a very good idea about the strengths and weaknesses of many review programs. That has been my main contribution to this forum. However, that may end as I learn a new profession.
