I’m taking REG this weekend and I’ve heard that the exam could be both 2009 and 2010. Is this true? Has anyone taken it so far?

    REG: 73 73 79
    AUD: 64 64
    BEC: 11/30

I don't want to break the AICPA's rules, so I'll just say be ready for 2010.

It's 2010.. it takes the test to catch up to “new rules” within 6 months. Therefore 2010 tax rules may be in effect July 2010, then 2011 will be in effect July 2011… it takes 6 months. 😉

When you take the exam in Jan-June 2011, you will be tested on 2010 tax rules.

July-Dec 2011, you will have a good chance to be tested on 2011 tax rules… from my understanding and AICPA website.

Thanks! Does anyone have any type of list or outline of the changes between the 2009 and 2010 tax years? Almost every rule I have come across seems to be a temporary regulation that is “pending” and may return in 2010…

I've heard not to be too concerned with the “pending” one's (but you never ever know until you sit for your exam).. The exam is not going to try to trick you on technicalities. Really, they aren't that cruel 🙂

When I was testing REG, I went to the IRS website. I searched “1040 changes”. A link came up that said changes in 2009, changes in 2010. It was very simple reading. I personally read it right before the exam. See if that is still available on their website.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the tip. I don't know how much it will help with the exam on Friday, but at least my panic subsided a little.

    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
