What is the process of reapplying after you fail an exam? Does it take long?

Soo I have FAR scheduled for 2/29 but don’t feel that ready. However, I have studied a lot so I’m kind of feeling like I’ll just go and give it my best, as long as I can re-take in April if I fail. (Hey, I’d be waiting until April anyway and I might actually pass.)

I just want to make sure that works out. Does it take long to re-take an exam after failing?

    Thanks!

    REG - 86 (11/22/11)
    BEC - 88 (1/9/12)
    FAR - 79 (2/29/12)
    AUD - 71 (5/7/12) - Got a little lazy. Retake 7/30/12 - 85 on the retake woohoo!

you have to wait 48 hours after the score is released to apply for a new NTS. I got my new NTS in less than a week after applying. But think POSITIVE

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Ah ok, that's not too bad. I try to think positive too, but always prepare myself for a fail. I guess I'll take the risk on the 29th. Thanks!

My NTS expired so I had to take it before I even finished all Becker videos. Hoping I fluked a pass.

If my NTS is not expired, is it that I have to apply for new NTS to retake any section ?

I'm wondering the same thing. My NTS is good for a year, but I know I will fail FAR on 2/29. Don't really know the steps to take after that….

From what mla1169 is saying, it seems that you have to re-apply, but you have to wait 48 hours after you receive your score.

When I applied for the 2nd 2 exams after passing REG and preparing for BEC, I received my NTS within a couple of days.

My worry is that if I take the exam 2/29, it will send my score into to the received “after close of window” group, and it will take forever for the score to post. My goal is to have AUD finished by May, so I would want to retake FAR if necessary in April. Ugh so hard to make decisions with imperfect information. grrr

A NTS is a one shot deal. If you use it and have to retake an exam, you have to reapply for (and pay for) a new one.

Scritt I'd think Feb 29 is ok, but it can't hurt to call NASBA and check.
