    What is the most important equation in FAR? What’s the funnest?

    For me, I think it’s:

    Beginning Inventory + Purchases = Cost of Goods Avail for Sale – Ending Inventory = Cost of Goods Sold

    I know that’s an obvious one! I could have gone with Assets = Liabilities + Equity but wanted to feel smart 🙂

    What’s yours????

    @Splinter – I stumbled onto Roger's TT, BPO, 75, 90 song on Youtube – I would have gone with Roger if not for CPAExcel…

    @Getting a CPA

    I am just wondering, is studying FAR using CPAexcel for you? I'm also using CPAexcel, and I've given up on reading the text, as I am just going through the video lectures and doing MCQs.

    P.S. I recommend taking AUD before the SAS gets tested starting in July.

    @CPA_Romantic – I have been studying FAR for a few months now, mainly because I have been out of school for many years, I am not an accountant, and this is my first section. I read both FAR books (1200+ pages) carefully, then moved onto the video lectures. I think the video lectures and MCQs are the way to go. The lectures echo what the book reads, and it's just repeat information that you can get from each bite-sized lecture.

    Would I have to take AUD in May then? I don' think I will have enough time to study as I would have to study between April 2 – May 23.

    Well, yes, May is the last month to take AUD before the SAS gets tested. And from what I have heard, AUD has a lot less material than FAR, so I think April 2-May 23 would be a realistic timeline (though it could be different depending on your job responsibilities or if you have a family). I myself am planning on taking AUD on 5-18-13 (6 weeks after FAR, which I do not feel prepared for lol).

    I don't think I can get through AUD in that little time. I may stick with REG next, and deal with AUD/SAS later…

    I am going hardest to easiest…

    I may actually do AUD last because I hear BEC is harder since it includes Cost Acctg? I have an MBA and a background in IT, which would help with BEC, but cost acctg was brutal in college!

    I guess it depends on each individual, so it's entirely possible that AUD will be easier for you. But if you're good at writing (in English, of course), then that's like an automatic 15% on the Written Communications part for BEC.
