    SO Cash flow statement

    US agape require entities to report significant none cash transaction on the bottom of Cash flow statement or in a separate schedule in the note to the F/S

    in this sentence what is the meaning of separate schedule ???

    Page 14 (and most of the next few pages…) of this PDF would be an example of a schedule in the notes to the F/S (not related to cash flow, but a schedule in general):

    “separate schedule” in this sentence just means anything that's set up in a schedule format (like a table) that gives the information requested, and in this case is located in the notes. So, let's say the only significant non-cash transaction that needs to be disclosed is 1 item; that's easy to list at the bottom of the cash flow statement. But, if there's 30, then you'd want to list those in the notes as a schedule, just cause 30 items takes a lot more space and adds a lot more clutter to the cash flow statement.

    Page 26 of that PDF has the supplemental information as a not eon the bottom of the Cash Flow Statement. There's 2 lines there. If you picture something like that, but 50 lines, that'd be a schedule in the notes.

    I couldn't find at a quick search any financial statements with a separate schedule for significant non cash transactions, but hopefully that still illustrates what it would be. 🙂
