I sit for my final section of FAR in three weeks, am using Becker 2009, been through the lectures twice,read notes, read flashcards and when i tried the homework/passmaster questions am getting 60% in F1 and am lost on F2, its like the concepts in the lectures and the questions in the homework dont relate. lecture examples are easy,i am following Gearty/Olinto along…then boom,the first question on the homework is one page on some weird obscure stuff they never talked about.

What do i do? am getting nervous as hell for the first time after passing AUD,BEC and REG on first tries.

You learn by doing the MC. Don't expect to score well that first time through. The MC are meant to be tough.

It must be true judging by your scores.i should have said this is my first time using Becker MC's, for the other exams i used The Wiley Software, Probably not the smart move to switch strategies from what worked but i thought i should try something new, since am pressed for time and the Wiley questions are way too many.

i just hope the real exam MC's are better than Becker's, i just scanned the Aicpa released questions and they seems to be less wordy and more to the point.

The AICPA questions are much easier than the actual exam questions and the actual exam is easier than the Becker HW questions.

Just focus on doing MCs over and over again. You've reviewed the materials well enough, now crank out questions until your exam date. If you hit an area you're struggling on, review the material one more time on that specific area. I'm sitting on the 11th, and am currently just working questions nonstop. I've run through all the Becker MCs twice now, and will just be doing simulated exams until test day. Good luck!

I have noticed the same thing, I grasp the concept in the lectures and from the examples in the book on Becker, but then I get to the multiple choice and they add even one thing & it throws me off… The best thing to do is just take it piece by piece and review their solution & the explanation until you fully understand the calcuation. The more I review the MCQ, class questions & lecture examples, the more I feel I understand the topic! Good luck… I'm sure if you passed all the other exams your first try, you will be fine with this one. Just don't let yourself get too stressed out or you won't be able to think properly!!
