When the heck does wave 2 begin? I need some motivation and I think a passing grade in far is just what I need to get me in another gear.

I think Jeff thought it may start around the 15th, so that would be about a week. I really would like my grade from Audit even though I only took it 2 weeks ago the waiting is already driving me to not concentrate 100% on studying. I think knowing it is soon is making me more anxious. What are you studying for?

Since we are taking these exams at pretty much the same time, did you feel good about audit? I took my sweet time on the Sims and I still left with an hour remaining. I'll guess I'll find out soon if that was a good or bad thing! When are you taking REG?
FAR: Took 7/1/10 VA: 90

AUD: Took 8/31/10 VA: 96
BEC: 10/10/10September 9, 2010 at 5:54 pm #239640michelle119ParticipantI felt alright going into it but not as prepared as I was for BEC and FAR. The testlets did get harder as I went along so I guess that's a good thing. They still only took I think 2 hours to do in total, I'm a fast test taker and I had minimal calculations and I don't sit on questions I answer it if I don't know it move on and go back but I don't dwell. I took my time on the Sims, but for once they were on stuff I did know or could figure out relatively easily with the research tool, I think they took maybe an hour total. Both writing communications were also relatively easy, on basically 2 items I had to write about in my undergraduate studies. Hopefully it was good for both of us.
I'm scheduled to take Regulation on October 22nd, but that might be subject to change since I start work at the end of September and not sure about time off, plus I'm starting grad classes next week….. If not I'll just move it into November. Any hints for studying? Looks like you did pretty well on these exams so far!

REG 11/12 - 96September 9, 2010 at 6:18 pm #239641tensors22288ParticipantI am the same way with MC's, if I don't know it on first read through, just skip and ignore it until the end. I had so much time I even tried searching research database on sims for material I was unfamiliar with, not much help!
I am scheduled for October 10th, and I am starting work next Monday, so that should be interesting. Almost through all Becker material 2x already, so hopefully I can manage some studying during 2 weeks of training.
I posted my same study technique for all three exams on this post:
https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/a-little-helpadvice
That is just what I do, but it has worked for me, and it really helps streamline the process, if you set goals and all. It involves probably working over 2,000 MC (including repeats), so it required a lot of time. Congrats to you too, I will keep my fingers crossed for you, and good luck with classes and job!

Geez I'm on pass one and am in the beginning of Regulation. Is it true that Peter takes over for Tim, because I'm ready to kill Tim at this point?? Its going to be a big adjustment, for me at least, to go from studying full time all day to only studying in 2 hour increments and with night classes I can't even look at cpa exam stuff every day probably. Did you just graduate as well?
Haze – I had plenty of time and had something on a simulation that I wasn't sure of so I found the standard pretty quickly, figured I might as well since I had over 2 hrs going into it.

Unfortunately my SIMs for far had me completely stumped. Didn't appear to be hard material just something I had either never seen in the review or something I had seen but with some strange twist that I didn't get.

REG-89September 9, 2010 at 7:29 pm #239645tensors22288ParticipantMichelle,
I don't know if I mentioned this in that post, but I don't actually listen to the lecturers! They drive me off the wall lol, I couldn't even get through ONE chapter of FAR with them. I just teach myself everything with the book and CPAreviewforfree. So that is why I get through the material somewhat quickly, don't have to wait for them to finish talking.
I graduated in May as well, from University of Richmond in VA. I started studying a week after graduation, and full-time ever since. Moved down to Richmond three weeks ago, so I am about to release the CPA chains and get chained up to a full-time job instead. Appealing isn't it?? 😉 I will miss having all the study time, but I need a paycheck pretty badly. If I pass Audit, I will be pretty excited. And I will not TOUCH CPA material again after I take BEC, unless I find out I failed. But my goal is to just go all out for another month and hope that doesn't happen,

I have been “listening” to them for the past 2 days, I've been in tax for about 5 years of internships so I really can't be bothered to listen to these guys, maybe once I get out of tax I'll pay more attention but Tim just makes horrendous jokes and skims a lot of stuff.
Haha sounds like me just graduated in Rhode Island from a small business school, Bryant. Finished up my internship about 2 weeks after graduation and have been studying full time since, and will be going into my job at the end of September. I wish I was starting next week, I had half planned on it since my offer letter said September but I guess they are waiting until the end, I really need a paycheck. Good thing my boyfriend can pay my half of rent at the moment since I've got nothing since my graduation money has been long gone….. I definitely won't be touching my study materials after this exam unless I failed Audit. I hope I never have to see another CPA exam study material after October!!

And 5 years of internships, that is crazy. I had ONE internship, and had my own car detailing business for 4 years before that. I think you should have the tax part of REG down pretty well! At least R1/2. And I have had to pay two months rent already with no one to split with, so definitely in trouble. Life is full of trade off's I guess. If you'd like to join me in a Becker book burning when we get through the last one, let me know! That would be way too gratifying

Life is definitely full of trade offs, but I'd rather be happy and slightly poor and live on my own then saving my paychecks and being miserable living with my parents. I will definitely join you in burning books! I cannot get ready to trash these books and materials!
