Although I agree that this sounds logical and has worked for many, I personally did not find that lectures, mcqs, lectures, mcqs…worked well for me. FAR was my first one and I watched the lectures, read the book and did mcqs for each part, one part at a time. I found that the lectures slowed me down a great deal and that I liked reading the book more.
After FAR, (if I recall correctly) I just tried watching all the lectures first (although following along in the book at the same time), to get them over with. Then I would go through the book and do the mcqs, section by section. I found this method helped me more because although I liked the lectures least, I did not want to forego them. So I made myself go through them first to get them over with, and then when I read the book/did mcqs, the material was a bit familiar to me.
When I took BEC for the second time, I purchased another course's review/cram lectures/book and watched part of the lecture. It was a different style than the lectures I had been listening to until then, and it could be that if I had used that company's review material to begin with I would have done as the others recommend.
I think this depends on the person and the study material…
