Hi,
I have a degree in finance from George Mason University.
I’m taking classes to get my degree in accounting now. I recently found out that since I already have a
degree from mason, that I only need to take the required accounting courses (18 credits) and 12
additional credits of whatever I choose to earn my degree. This will also put me at 150+ credits.
Once I have my degree in accounting, will I still not be eligible to sit for the exam? Do they really look
at the credits you took to earn a degree? I figured a degree in accounting would automatically
constitute as a concentration in accounting and allow you to sit for the exam?
My professor told me last night that I would take all the required courses at GMU while earning my degree that would be required to sit for the exam.
Now I am hearing otherwise. I contacte the VA BOA, but was told everyone had to have a degree
in accounting beore sitting for the exam so even that person’s credibility I doubted.
Thanks for the help! (Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum, it was the only forum I was actually able to post in)
