Hi, I’m a little bit confused right now… My phone has been acting up so I can’t call CBA, so I decided to ask here.

    1. I”m in California and graduated from one of the UC’s last June. On my transcript, it has different numbers for “Credits Passed” and “UC GPA Credits”. I just wanted to clarify – will my “UC GPA Credits” be counted towards the educational requirements? I have 210 quarter units for UC GPA Credits (quarter system).

    2. I have no prior general accounting experience – CBA says, “If you do not have any prior general accounting work experience, you will need to begin full-time work under the direct supervision of an active licensee by January 1, 2012.” So this means I have to go for Pathway 2 which requires 225 quarter units. Do these 225 units include 36 Accounting and 36 Business quarter units? (After my current accounting certificate program, I will have total of 242 units.)

Please help! Thank you in advance.

The bottom of my UC transcript says:

“QUARTER CREDITS COMPLETED 182.5 UC GPA 2.442”

I've never seen “UC GPA Credits” but would imagine it is the same thing and just how your school words it.

Yes, for pathway 2 you'll need 225 units. Of those 225 units, 36 need to be accounting related and 36 need to be business related.

Thank you Minimority! Do you mind if I ask which UC you went to? I went to one in the city that always stays… classy. 🙂

elaine, does ucsd have an accounting major? UC Davis didn't have an accounting major so i had to go to UCLA extension to get a certificate in accounting to be eligible for the exam.

@jtcali – Nope, we only had an accounting minor. That's funny, I am getting credits at UCLA Extensions too!!

yea, UC's don't have accounting majors. accounting is too practical of a major, you might actually use it to make a living. is dr. boutari still teaching at UCLA Ext.?

he's a good and fair teacher. but even if he was bad i don't think you have any other choice, he teaches almost all of the UCLA ext. accounting classes. i took 6 of them from him.

yeah I hear he's teaching both of Advanced Accounting and lots of other classes. I'm taking him for Advanced A and Internal Auditing 🙂

I think you can be a business major at UCLA and have a minor or concentration in accounting, but there's no major for it. I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science (not a real science) and later took UCLA Extension to get enough units to sit.

I took a lot of Boutari classes, too — 4, I think. I think he might be the only choice for internal auditing, cost, and advanced if you want in-person lecture. There are other instructors for the online versions, though (but I never did those).
