Took the FAR yesterday- I think I failed- what now?

I just took the FAR- it was B-R-U-T-A-L! the Sims were absolutely ridiculous ( Yaeger did not discuss them in great detail) and IFRS was all calculations and NO theory questions. Wiley did not prepare me for those SIMS!. I had Yaeger memorized!

So all in all,the MCQ’s were okay- I think I handled them alright- but I only had 1hour and 15 min to do the SIMS and the SIMS were brutal- I just made up 2 SIMS because I didn’t have a clue I completely failed!!

Should I start studying again in preparation for April retake? or should I wait for my grade( on or around March 7)?

    FAR 61, 82! ( 11/9/12)
    AUD 67, (4/19/13) WAITING!!

Move onto the next part. The curve on this exam is unpredictable. Very few people that passed FAR have walked out thinking they passed..

I agree with CPAman… Just be calm… If you have any other test approved in your NTS start studying for that one and as soon you get your FAR score decide if you want to take it first (by soliciting another NTS) or take the one you have already paid for…

    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82

I haven't signed up for any parts yet- was waiting on my performance on FAR before I moved further… I believe that if I did fail- at least I will have e/t in my head and won't have to start all over again. But after reading these posts I'm skeptical about my grade- I know inside that I didn't do well, but the cpa has surprises in store for everyone!

Don't worry… If (I am using IF here ok) you failed the test… Go back in taking it again… I think every CPA candidate should take FAR first… It is like the basis or foundation, you might say, for every other exam…

I believe the perfect order is:

FAR, AUD, BEC (in that order, same testing window) then REG (in the next testing window)…

I would have done it like that myself if I knew better when started… Of course this is my opinion.

I thought I failed FAR too when I left the testing center. I only left an hour for the sims and rushed through the last four in twenty minutes. You never know. I would take a little break from studying and wait for your results since they're only 2 weeks away. But that's just my opinion.

I would also recommend taking a break until scores are released. your brain will be thankful.. It's only 2 weeks away.. Hit the gym and catch up on anything you've been putting off. Good luck and stay positive.. I have yet to take a CPA section and walk out feeling that I passed.

Kesecker I'm in the exact same boat. I feel I tanked FAR this week. I studied like a mad man and was doing really well on Wiley sample tests. The exam was a kick to my stomach. Everyone is telling me to move forward and don't assume I failed. I think I'm gonna take one weekend off then move to AUD on Monday.

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

    ETHICS - 2013 - PASSED

DONE!!! Thank you A71 for all the support! Hiya!!!

Thanks for all your advice- I will take a short break, but continue to skim through my FAR notes to keep it fresh in case I really did fail. I feel better about my decision now.
