Took FAR yesterday and oh my gosh…

I was literally cursing out AICPA becuase of the amount of computational questions I saw on the first testlet. Only a few theory questions. I know it was luck, but give me a break! Also, there were some questions that were not very straightforward and could be interpreted several different ways. Could they not make the questions simpler is instead of the “If ABC company can’t not have all of these except for including only…blah blah blah”. I might be exagerating, but that also made me mad. I was a hot ball of mess after the first testlet.

I guess the testlets got hard in 2 & 3, but they all seemed the same I guess. The SIMS weren’t that bad, but the topics weren’t ones that I “mastered” so I’m not feeling all that fuzzy. I started the SIMS with 1 hour and 40 minutes so I had plenty of time to finish them all. It got real interesting when I tried to double click part of the research tab and an error came up saying that the program was going to shut down. This of course was with only 13 minutes left and I was fearing that all my SIMS were lost. Luckily that was not the case and the testing guy rebooted me.

I spent the morning reading over all my study guides, NINJA notes, flashcards, my notes and listened to a lecture while driving to the center. By the time I walked in I had created a headache from all the reading. Next time I’m going to do some “light” reading before.

Overall I won’t be surprised if I fail or pass. I feel it could go either way right now. I’m going to take the day off and start AUD tomorrow. Oh and doesn’t anyone else find it really strange AICPA doesn’t divulge how they grade these tests? I think it’s shady. 🙂

I wouldn't be surprised if the AICPA had a machine like Willy Wonka did, remember the one that decided which one ” was a good egg” –hahaha. I am being crass….jk.

FAR is tough. I remember my second testlet having a computation for almost every mcq. It totally hammered my time. Then my last testlet was easy–I breezed thru it and gained back my time. And somehow I passed. 79. I say get pissed, take a day off, enjoy not being tethered to your laptop or computer! And keep the faith! Hopefully you will get good news soon. Glad you didn't lose your exam…that would have been a real pisser!! Have a good weekend. 🙂

Some say FAR is the hardest…I also didn't have such a great test experience, but still thankfully passed! At one of my exams (can't remember which one) I also had a problem with clicking on the research tab and the program shut down, but the person at Prometric was able to get everything up and running the way it had been, as well. I don't know why that happens, I hope they fix it.

Good luck studying AUD! I also studied it after FAR and felt is was much easier (although not easy!).
