So I just took FAR today and wow talk about feeling defeated walking out of that one!! I thought the first testlet was fair and I think I did pretty well because the second testlet got harder. A lot of questions in this testlet threw me for a loop. There were probably 10-13 questions that I was not sure of and I just picked the best one. I then thought that the third teslet would have gotten easier because I don’t think I did well on the second testlet, but there were just as many questions in the third testlet that I was not completely sure of. I am not sure if it got harder or if I just needed to brush up on the material more but I was not too confident in some of those answers.

The sims were bad, but not terrible. Again, I am not sure if I got them right (i think i got the written comm. and the research questions right, though. Or I hope I did at least!). The sims material was not out of left field, but they asked for answers that I was not quite exposed to in the Becker homework. What I mean by that is Becker would ask for one thing about a topic and the actual sim asked for something that Becker did not really touch on (like journal entries! Becker would ask for a hard numerical answer and the test would ask for the journal entry). So I am not sure how I did on the sims. I did finish the exam, but I just was not sure about my answers. Ugh this is frustrating. This is my last part and I am trying to get this damn thing done before the change the exam. If I got a 75 then someone upstairs really loves me.

These post-FAR posts are just killing me. I'm taking the beast in 3 days and I don't think I'm emotionally ready for this 🙁

Good luck, the waiting game begins now. Guessing on 10 questions is not bad at all, remember that each MC testlet has 5 pre-test questions.

I felt pretty much the same way as you. I think I sort of gave up a bit on my last simulation I was so defeated. When I left the exam I would have bet $1 million that I failed. Then I came on here and read post after post of people have experiences just like mine and they passed.

    Who knows.

BEC and AUD were a cakewalk compared to this thing.

    AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81

Hey guys- I also took FAR today. I just posted over on the FAR thread, so I don't want to retype it and take up 4 more paragraphs worth of space on the site…. butttttt:

    THAT THING SUCKED!! haha

I'm really glad nobody else feels good about it. If they want a 40% pass rate, they are going to have to let some of us pass!

Have any of you ever seen someone come on here and say that they felt decent after FAR?

    BEC- 85
    AUD- 84
    FAR- 91
    REG- 96

I felt absolutely horrible and was certain I failed. I was miserable for about a week after the exam even. My Becker FAR book had a misprint, and I even got them to send me a new one because I was certain I'd be restudying. During the exam, I felt like I was guessing over and over and felt unprepared even though I had spent countless hours studying. Turns out I made a 78. That was probably one of the best days of my life, it felt so good especially considering my feelings about it. Don't try to guess your score and don't give up hope until you see the score. If I had to guess my score, it would have been about a 60. Good luck to everyone.

    AUD - 74, 87; BEC - 84; FAR - 78; REG - 79
    It's done, Son!

    GSU Josh,

Your story gives me some hope. The worst part is that I had seen just about all of the information but as you know it is just too hard to remember it all. I pray that I get at 75! I walked out of there thinking that I got a 60, too. Thanks for your input!

I would definitely recommend Becker. It's expensive, but seems to work. Most firms have a discount program, or will just buy it for you. I've passed AUD and BEC with way fewer study hours than are recommended for each section. I did just take FAR and feel awful, but I can't blame Becker. My brain just stopped working… Becker also claims to have a pass rate twice as high as normal… but that could just be biased stats.

    knj1988,

You have good scores on the other exams. Did you really burn out? Is it becasue the questions were so complex?

    Hi Everyone..

Thanks kj1988 for your advice .

I am going for BEC first and then I will go for FAR so anyone can tell me from which chapter I should start preparing for the BEC.

Thank for the advice and suggestions in advance.

    CPAwannaBe,

I studied way more for FAR per unit than I did for AUD or BEC. I felt like I should have been prepared. I just got an absurb number of questions on topics that we random and seemed like they should be straight forward, easy questions, but I spent too long mastering pension calculations, consolidation JEs and NCI caculations, etc. I should have dumbed it down reallllllll far. haha

I didn't feel fantastic after AUD, but still did fine, so hopefully I passed and am just being a head case!

although I do think that “absurb” more accurately reflects the situation…
