    Holy cow! what a beast.

That was the hardest test I have ever taken. I am using becker and after both AUD and BEC test I felt like I was prepared. Today it was totally different. In becker you get some of the easy questions and some hard ones, and after taking and passing two test you get a feeeling what the exam is like. It easy to tell the one sentence double choice from the paragraph questions. In my first two tests I felt like i got about 20 per 30 multiple choice q’s that were the easier of the two types. Today for FAR is was the other way around, it seemed like there were 20 hard and 10 easy.

Then came the SIM’s!! Both my SIM’s were mixed topics! That kind of threw me off. I did my best but all I can say is be prepared for FAR.

    AUD 89
    BEC 84
    FAR 87
    REG 94!! ALL DONE

    PleasePass,

Don't worry. I did not think FAR was bad at all. I felt the worst leaving AUD, then REG, then FAR. I felt great on the MC questions and not so good on the simulations. I felt good about the written parts.

Good luck. If you prepared well, you'll do great.

WI_11 – I'm with you! I took mine on Monday the 11th and have been down since. I was really disappointed because I felt going in that I was well prepared. Unfortunately, I spent so much time analyzing the MC I fell short on time for the simulations. I'm hoping on the first one is graded otherwise I'm in big trouble.

I'm trying my best to get my motivation back for AUD. I have that one scheduled on Nov 29th. Good luck with Reg

FAR is the Beast of the Beasts!! I left the exam almost crying (it was my first exam). When I took BEC 2 weeks ago, it felt so relaxing compared to FAR.

    FAR 88 - BEC 86 - AUD 90 - REG 85

Oh boy…Suddenly I'm not excited for Monday…I just got done with Becker's Final Review and still want to pound out a TON of multiple choice questions and am not sure if that will be enough….

OK, I haven't passed FAR yet, but I can tell you where I screwed up. My advice is to not get hung up on the difficulty. The first time I took FAR, I thought the first testlet was fairly easy and I went back to review it. Well, it costs me in the end because I ran out of tme.

The last time I took FAR, I told myself to get through the first testlet in 30 minutes and don't look back. Well, the very first question I had was so difficult, it set the tone for disaster. My first testlet was medium difficulty and I tried rushing to stay on a schedule. Bad idea. First sim was super hard and I rushed to get to the last sim which was easy and ended up with 30 minutes to spare.

Moral of the story is to take each question one at a time. Don't rush but don't spend too much time either. Watch the clock but use it as a general guide. The multiple choice questions are very important to get correct and make sure you do the written communications on both sims first. It is still possible to pass and not finish the simulations.

Don't panic and give it your best shot.

To tell you about my experience, I was dreading going into FAR thinking I was unprepared but if you can answer most of the Becker questions with accuracy and some speed, you'll do fine on the actual test. Becker Final Review gave me a nice overview and a review. For me Becker MCQs were trickier and more difficult than the real test. Make sure you go in with a clear mind, confidence and a game plan especially in terms of managing time.

If you don't know the answer to a problem just think if I don't know this then the other folks don't know it either. Guess and move on. I would not spend 10 minutes trying to figure out 1 problem which you may answer incorrectly.

    DONE!

I, too, took FAR and thought it was a mammoth, relatively. A lot of the questions were more theoretical than computation, which was a relief. But I know I made stupid mistakes along the way, and didn't seem to see the complexity of questions increase over time. Nothing was worse than getting a very similar MCQ the next testlet and then knowing you answered the one on the last one wrong.

Simulations were also not my friend. Tried to master the written and research component parts. What I think they're trying to do is ease in “easier” simulations. Both of mine had no real common situation and were all individual tabs on different things. That's nice when you know what you're doing, but had a few curve balls I wasn't expecting.

We'll wait and see! I really do not want to retake this section.

    REG - 97
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 86
    AUD - 96 ... DONE!

I just took FAR this morning and feel horrible… I didn't have time to complete the sims (left both research tabs blank), left a couple of other tabs blank and did not do so great on the stuff I did complete. Although I did the communication tabs and did reasonable on the MCQ (I think..).

Did everyone else have time to complete things? There were way more tabs per sim than I recall from AUD!

    CA CPA,

I took FAR last Sunday. I walked out of there thinking there is absolutely no way I passed. I completed the first simulation completely. Mostly all mixed topics. Research and written parts were fine. The other tabs I am almost positive I messed up in one way or another. I'm praying for some serious partial credit

The second (started it with 45 minutes to go) sim was absolutely horrible. I completed the research and written parts first, which I was okay with for the most part. Although I've heard it is not kosher to cite the appropriate FAS directly, which of course I did. For the other tabs, I was familiar with every topic (for the most part) but the way in which the questions had to be answered was so confusing. Combine that with that horrible equation function that deleted my equations completely if I didn't include a parenthesis in the correct spot. I didn't complete one tab even with 45 minutes for just one simulation. Overall, I wouldn't be surprised if every answer on that simulation was wrong.

So you're not alone in feeling horrible about this test. It was miserable.

Thanks for your feedback. Good to hear that someone else felt that way. I kept thinking that there is no way anyone could complete all those tabs correctly. REALLY time-consuming.

What did you think about the MCQ? There were definitly a few were I had to guess, but overall I thought they were slightly better than I had expected. Although I hope that doesn't mean that I got stuck on the medium level.. My second and third testlets were mixed – they had lengthy questions as well as shorter ones. Not sure what that means…

Do they curve the exam to ensure that around 50% of people pass? So essentially we are competing againts others in this window?

I wasn't completely comfortable with the M/C. I think I marked around 25 all together, but I mark anything I'm slightly iffy on. After looking over the topics I remember having trouble with, I felt slightly better because I think I picked the right answers for a good number of them. I didn't notice any increasing difficulty, which actually messed with my head. But apparently a good number of people who ended up passing experienced the same thing for FAR. I got a good number of theory questions. Overall I think I completely **** the bed.

I did notice increasing difficulty (or what I thought was) for REG, which I ended up getting an 87 on.

And by the way, apparently they don't curve at all.

I cannot wait till we get our scores! I felt the MCQ were very easy.. but I don't know why.. Maybe I got every single one wrong!!!!
