To Those Who Passed FAR, What Topics Did You Emphasize?

To those of you who passed FAR, what topics did you make sure to go over and emphasize? I ask because as you know there are so many topics in the Becker textbook, and obviously they can only ask 90 questions and 7 sims. I’m not asking what was on your exam, but I’m asking about your strategy and what you made sure to go over and drill topic wise for FAR when you were studying?

Understand all topics and make sure you practice journal entries, even when answering and reviewing MCQs.

    Florida:
AUD: 73, 81! Thank you Lord!
BEC: 73, 77! Thank you Lord! and WTB
REG: 71, 82! Thank you Lord! and A71
FAR: 72, 78! Thank you God and my Mommy in Heaven!

    Thanks teeteenounouche.

Anyone have any advice on which chapters in Becker are very important? I will not be skipping over anything, but I just want to have an idea on what are some important topics, whether they are tested or not, in the becker book, because the book is the largest out of all of them. I remember in REG, that it was very important to know chapters 1 – 5 and 8, bec was too small to really determine, and audit, a lot of people mention chapters 3 and 4 were the most important. Does anyone have any insight on this for FAR, again knowing that all is fair game?

If it is mentioned in the NINJA notes, have an understanding of that topic. Also, Governmental, NFP and IFRS are heavily weighted in the FAR content listing. Good luck!

this is a tough question since you don't know what you'll get until you take it. You can guarantee 20% will be governmental and not for profit which is easy points so definitely hammer that down.

My recommendation is to follow what Becker tells you to do. I also wrote out every journal entry in the book by chapter a couple days before. That helped me a bunch on the sims.
