Pls don’t laugh at my question…………..

So ladies, when you study for the CPA exam, do you still cook? wash the dishes? Do the laundry? I’ve been pushing all that to my bf and he has been super supportive for the past two subjects I took. I start to feel that he’s getting a little impatient with all this and really will not do it till I beg him or till our sink’s full or we’re both starving … I keep saying that I’ll pay him back big time by discovering and cooking new dishes for him everyday (we’re both “gourmet eaters” and both cook well :p ) and taking good care of him after this is all done…. I feel really bad about it… but meanwhile, I somehow think that everyone who studies for the exam is exempt from these chores… (I know I shouldn’t have this “entitlement”…) Just wondering how you all balance it… Am I going the extreme?

Sorry that this question is gender specific. As much as I’d like to think that there’s gender equality, it’s still more OK for men to not do housework than women, I somehow feel… Of course, men are more than welcome to comment too. =)

I'm glad that I made the post. Now I feel that I've taken his support for granted, and worse, I even gave him a bad attitude when he “slacked off” from housework once a while. I even get mad at him when he plays strict with me when I slack off from studying and when he tries to set requirement for me to finish certain chapters by the time he returns home… He also offered to give me rides to and from the test center when I took my first part, and I laughed at him! After reading all your posts last night, I felt so bad and didn't know what to make of myself…. a and feel so fortunate to have him at the same time. I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom and ordered food delivery… lol… I can't really justify hiring a maid for cleaning given our financial condition now. However, I decided to order delivery more often. =D and with all the time that I go absent-minded/surfing online, I might as well do some cleaning. and I seriously agree with that I'd much prefer to do housework than studying for the CPA exam, now that I think about it…

To all of you who have husband and kids (and cats/dogs) and work full-time, I give my uttermost respect to you. I can't imagine myself juggling everything at once, and AU1222 even got all 90+ scores!!! Simply admirable!!! I'm glad that I came to the forum. I should really get real and stop complaining and never stop learning from all of you out there!

My BF did all the housework, except for laundry when I was studying. But once you pass, be prepared for him to shove all of that and more back on to you 😉
