I was originally scheduled for my 4th retake of FAR at July 19th but then I pushed it back to August 4th but now I am going through the ninja MCQ and averaging about 70% should I move the exam back up to be included in the wave 1 scores? I have yet to focus on my weaknesses which is journal entries and simulations.

Would you cram these next two weeks? I’m just worried about diminishing returns and losing focus. I really want to be done with this journey!

Yeah I would move it back up as long as you give yourself enough time in review to move your overall MCQ scores to the 75-85% range…just to be safe. At the same time you don't want to give yourself too much time and risk losing memory of earlier taught information.

What were you averaging right before you failed previously? If it was 70-75, definitely do not move it. Study your weaknesses until they're a strong area for you. When you get tired or get unmotivated, think about what it would be like to have to retake it yet again if you fail this time.

Sounds like you've got the exam gitters. I highly advise against moving it and focus on your weak points before the big day unless your gut tells you otherwise.

Btw, I averaged about a 60-70%ish before FAR test day and passed. Just remember to relax on test day…and proper analysis requires calm. You'll do fine.

@KLS I scored a 72 on the actual exam but I was in the high 70s on both Wiley & Ninja MCQ

Ahh I'm scheduled to take FAR 8/8 but my brain and confidence is ready to take it now. I feel like I've hammered through MCQs and feel confident on my average scores and my momentum is saying it's time. I keep checking the Prometric center availability for an open spot on 8/2 but the only one is 8AM and I'm not insane.

I originally wanted to take it 8/2 but am traveling for work right now and won't return back home until 8/1. When I scheduled I knew I would most likely be ready for exam on 8/2, but didn't want to take it the following day after returning from a flight due to me being a very routine person (wanted to do my normal routine from the comfort of my own home night before and everything).

So, my question is what do I do to keep everything fresh in my head without overdoing it but at the same time not becoming lazy? My plan is to moderately keep doing MCQs from all random areas to make sure I constantly see everything still.

If you reschedule, I would not push it into the next test window. At least make sure that you take it sometime in Aug.

If pushing it back a week or two would help you to feel less stressed and more confident, then do it.

So I'm scheduled for 8/4 but the wait time on scores is a killer for me. I was thinking maybe pushing it out to the 9th or 15th of this month? Or should I just take it on the 4th? Sims and journal entries are my weakness. What's the best way to practice journal entries?

In my opinion it all starts with journal entries, so if you're weak with journal entries that should be your priority. So what I am doing is everytime I see a journal entry I analyze how and why it is written that way then I write it on my printed ninja notes in the section it belongs in among adding other non journal entry details that I think is important. So I get journal entries either from the Becker book where they provide example or from the Wiley test bank while working mcq out, or from the Wiley reference. Whenever you see an important journal entry, write it down to review it. I actually try to workout mcq by going through the journal entries to get to the answer, it works best. Understand journal entries and use that logic to come up with answers for mcq and sims! The more I understand JE's the stronger I feel about the material. If you still feel weak then push out, you don't want to take this a fifth time!

best way to practice JE's are to write them over and over and over again. Seriously – it gets engrained in your brain that way.

In my previous post above, I was thinking that the question was whether to reschedule later to allow more time to study. Now, I realize that the question was whether to push it up and take it sooner.

Regardless of where you will fall with the score release schedule, I think the decision should be made based on whether you feel ready or not. If you need a few more days, then wait and take it then.

I'd MUCH prefer to wait longer to find out that I passed, than to find out sooner that I have to retake!

Base your decision on how well-prepared you'll be on that date.

Sounds like you still have some weak areas to work on, so give yourself time to work on those, then go for it!
