Does anyone have any tips or tricks for remembering the rules when it comes to whether a transaction has commercial substance and if you should recognize gain/what amount? I’ve been trying to memorize the rules for what seems like forever now and it just won’t stick. Every time I think I have it down, I get a question on it and completely blank and forget everything. I know if I can’t remember while studying at home, there’s no chance of me remembering come test day! Any help would be appreciated!!
