I’ve taken 4 or 5 mock exams in the past week or so, scored decently, and each time finished with about 2.5 hours left. I’m not really sure what to attribute this to… It may be because I’ve already seen a good number of the questions, and also the luck of the draw with Sims and not getting any DRS (Roger). I have always been a fast and decisive test taker but…

How has your timing on mock exams compared to the real deal?
Can anyone with more experience than me speak to this?

Every test I've taken, I typically breeze through the practice exams and complete them in less than 2 hours. I'm the same as you and tend to work pretty fast. For FAR I left 1 hour on the clock and the same for BEC (Before the 2017 changes). For audit, I left about an hour as well.

For the real exam, the SIMs are much harder than practice SIMs. I use Becker and feel like, I'm never prepare for the SIMs at all. I would say timing wise, don't worry about it in practice. Just make sure for the real exam you carefully read the questions and you'll be good. Time doesn't matter as long as you know what you're doing and don't skip the details.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I have noticed that when I get something wrong, it's usually because I missed a detail in the question. Very important to pay attention to!

i am using roger as well, i typically have been finishing the simulated exams much faster than the actual exams. If I had to guess I'd put it at a 30 – 45 min differential.
