Is there an official amount of time you have to wait before scheduling a retake? I’ve been looking for guidance on the issue but haven’t found anything.

you can only test for a particular exam once per test window. Once you find out you failed then you can apply to take the test again and schedule in the next test window. There is no official amount of time you have to wait that I am aware of, other than it may take a day or so before Nasba or your state board shows the failed exam and allows you to reapply.

You have to wait 48 hours before you can apply for a new NTS and, as bnrhilton said, can only take a particular exam once per window.
