Throwing It All Away

I might be talking to myself here, just hoping someone can relate. I studied so hard for the first three parts and passed. With FAR I have killed myself for 2 months, yet this last month (Aug) I have been avoiding my task and not keeping up. The knowledge is seeping away, I can understand why I am doing this with only one part to go. I think I am just tired and gave myself too much time for FAR. I was ripe 9 days ago. It’s like the 31st cant get here quick enough. I guess I have three weeks to refresh all, it just seems like I am throwing away my chance with out putting in the hours I was back in June and July when I was motivated. Any shrinks out there that can help me before it’s too late?

Yeah I took BEC, and I looked over FAR materials… I hated studying for BEC, and I hated the exam.. I felt as if I was straight guessing on everything.. I prepared well, just thought the material was so boring.. nothing would stick… I liked intermediate. Now AUD is another story… SO BORING!!!!!!!

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

I can't say which section I hate more. All I can say is REG was the only one I didn't hate studying for. It's my favorite of the material.

I've mostly forgotten the pain of BEC since I took it last year. But I am having a hard time with how much info is in FAR. It seems impossible.

    BEC- 73, 73, 80
    REG- 74, 83
FAR- 50(didn't study), 76 (<--How the heck did that happen?)
    AUD- 71, 71, 79!!!!!
    Finished!!

Somehow the hard stuff is okay with me like NFP and GVT, its the stockholders equity and the trucky pension stuff that has me down. I will crank this weekend then do a major review thanks all for the post. I have to finish this process it's killing me thinking about i all the time. Its not that hard it's the routine thats killing me.

I know what you mean. The pressure of the test can be emotionally draining. You still have a while to go before you start losing credits though, so if you fail, big deal… you still have like three attempts. You're in a real good shape.

    FAR - 85 November 2011
    AUD - 81 January 2012
    REG - 68 March 2012
    BEC - 86 April 2012
    REG - 92 July 2012

    @kristen1479

Really!!!!! FAR honestly has been the easiest for me… Although my FAR professor will ALWAYS get the credit for my passing grade, I still found the material approachable and familiar if that make any sense,,,

I studied everything twice work my multiple choice and passed!!!

aaaaaand I've said this before, but BEC is the work of the devil with a little umph of Real Kill Insect Killer!!!!!

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

My friend you need a SERIOUS attitude adjustment! You've been very negative about FAR and your other scores prove you know exactly what you are doing. Grin and bear it, you're at the end of the tunnel!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

    Givemesleep,

I too had similar thoughts, we all have. If I knew when I started, what I know now, I would never have begun this journey and I’ve been fairly successful in my testing thus far.

You can either goof around and lose credit and then have multiple parts to study or you can go make this happen and get done with this process. You are probably in better shape than you think on FAR.

I have similar pressures since I pushed my exams back after this disasterous spring and my May attempt. Everything hinges on this REG test on 8/30. I only have until July of next year to complete REG and FAR. I have REG 8/30 and then FAR Q4….if all goes well, I will have four attempts to nail FAR. If I fail REG on 8/30 that throws a kink in the works and I don’t know what I will do so I’ve kicked it up a notch.

I think that when I get past REG, FAR will be a welcomed change and a chance to study fresh and new material. Restudying sucks.

Givemesleep, FAR brought out the absolute worst in me. I feel your pain. I, too, left it for last and regretted since it took me 7 months to pass it. Just remember – chance favors the prepared mind. The more you go over your stuff – rinse, wash, repeat, the more likely you are to pass. It's that simple. And FAR isn't like BEC where you'll get off-the-wall questions. You will feel VERY prepared if you follow your course.

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂

Agreed, FAR was a struggle for me as well especially when I failed with a 74 and re study the same material all over again, I was pretty much useless the week leading up to my last exam, no focus couldnt study and angry.

    BEC 73, 71, 79 (1/3/12)
    AUD 48, 70 (1/31/12), 85 (4/9/12)
    REG 70, 61, 77 (2/29/12)
    FAR 42, 74 (5/29/12), 80 (7/16/12)
    Ethics - 98 (4/20/12)
    Officially a CPA (8/9/12)
