Stuggling with FAR, should I change methods? - Page 2

    Currently, I am going through the CPAexcel lectures and MCQ. But there is just so much of it that it doesn’t seem like I’m retaining any information. Also, I scheduled the exam on May 31, cause I want to take a chance at this exam this quarter to see what it’s like, and then take it for real on July 11. But honestly, given by the way I’m retaining information (or not retaining information), staying with this plan for another month and a half does not seem it’s going to help. Should I just plan to take the exam for real on May 31 and just switch to Jeff’s 20 day method?

    @CPA4birthdaypresent

    The plan is start preparing on 4-27-14 and take the exam on 7-11-14. The only thing that is currently different is I'm taking it on 5-31-14 in addition to 7-11-14. If I am going to pass, I have to find ignite that spark one way or another.

    I used CPA Excel for the first three parts but ditched it for FAR because there was 2,000 MCQs.

    FAR- 85 I'm DONE!
    BEC- 75
    REG- 60,60,75
    AUD- 74,74,83

    CPAExcel used for BEC, AUD, REG
    Exam Matrix used for FAR plus NINJA Blitz, cpareviewforfree and a little CPAExcel

    I'd voice the opposite here, take that May 31 test and see what happens. Studying like crazy until then, at least you can then immediately be ready for July 1 with a fail.

    Taking an exam in the early window is a SOB, if you fail you are stuck studying for another section and then have to double back after taking the test. Which is what is going on with me and FAR and BEC.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

    @ahugemistake

    Yup. I got Both the Ninja Audo and Notes, as well as CPAexcel and Wiley Test Bank.

    @tomq04

    Thanks for the feedback. Currently, I'm planning to cover all of my pases and go with the plan to studying from 4-27-14 to take it on 7-11-14. The only difference is that I'm also taking it on 5-31-14.
