This is crazy….

I have passed BEC and AUD, just took REG a couple days ago and feel pretty good about it. That means all I have left is that evil demon FAR. Per my NTS, I have to take FAR by 5/6 or lose credit. I will also lose credit for my BEC if I don’t pass FAR by the end of May. but enough with the backstory – to give myself 2 chances at FAR, I just scheduled to take it on February 27th, 8 days away. I haven’t looked at this stuff in 4 years, I scored a 69 on it back in 08′. I Figure giving it a shot now with the slight chance of passing, but if not I will have a better idea of what i’m dealing with. I will also have time to get through my lectures and do a proper study plan assuming I don’t pass. This strategy will cost me an extra 250 bucks assuming i don’t pass, but i will be studying my arse off for the next 8 days (as much as I can with a full time job and 3 kids anyway.)

So, I know this isn’t the best way to go, but it is the predicament I am in – with that being said, has anyone ever had to face an exam in a time frame of 8 days, cold turkey? Any suggestions? I am going to pluck around 30 or 40 multiple choice questions off each topic in the wiley testbank and also re-read my FAR book from a few years back as I have well documented notes there; I think that is a good way to go but any other suggestions are welcome.

    B -
    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

Do it…. The $250 is worth every penny if you pass it in this window or even next. Worse case you get an extra shot at it and even if you fail you get comfortable with the test and what kind of questions you'll see.

Seriously, you might want to just take a week off of work or at least a few days. Definately the weekend. Live at the library and bang out about 1,000 MCQs a day. Ditch the FAR book from a few years back. Some of the information is obsolete and there's no value in going into that much detail. Grab a copy of NINJA Notes. They are condensed enough with all the important information you need to know and easy enough to absorb. I'd read through those EVERYDAY before banging out the MCQs.

You can do. Just need to cut out ALL distraction and REALLY go balls to the wall. Good Luck.

You have a better shot at passing being that you already have know the format and have taken it once before. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I'm just wondering how many people go into the test with a week or two of studying and try to pass. Is that why the pass rates are so low?

This thread has inspired me to try REG next Monday. I am nowhere near ready but I was feeling guilty about letting a whole testing window go by without taking an exam. I have very low hopes of passing but I feel good about gaining the exam experience and even with a failing score, I'll know where I stand. As of Monday, I'll only be 4 weeks into my studying for this one.

Luckily I have a great boss who is letting me take off Thursday and Friday. I will let everyone know how it goes 🙂

@jsblamer, I actually walked into FAR and studied one day with only one day of studying. The day before that I took audit which I studied extremely hard for so because my NTS was expiring, I took my chances with FAR. I clicked on a,b,c,d in that order for all of the questions. lol. Anyway, it gave me an idea on what was on the exam and when I took it again, I passed. Good luck!!

@ashlienicole- I feel the same way as you do. I've only studied for 3 weeks for REG so I am taking my chances too! Like you, I didnt want to lose a testing window. Good luck to us!!

    BEC 10/13 PASSED 77
    AUD 04/12 PASSED 83
    FAR 08/12 PASSED 76
    REG 02/13 PASSED 76

Licensed in PA on 12/23/13. Yea boy!!

So evidently it is possible to study for a month and pass REG. I wouldn't recommend it though, soooo stressful.
